Anthropology & the Human Condition HomeThis is a featured page

Welcome to the Wiki for SC2218: Anthropology and the Human Condition.
This is an introductory course in Anthropology at the National University of Singapore.
It is a course within the Department of Sociology.

The wiki will be an integral part of the course for the first semester of 2008/2009.

This is a new endeavour for the instructor and most if not all of the students, so expect some bumps and hick-ups along the way. But all foreboding aside, this is intended as a exploration of new modes of learning, harnessing the power of the Internet to engage you (participants in the course) in an interactive, dynamic learning environment. Much of what we will undertake in this class - especially via the wiki - is inspired by the ground breaking pedagogical work of Mike Wesch, an anthropologist who teaches cultural anthropology at Kansas State University.

You are encouraged to view Wesch's video lecture on "A Portal to Media Literacy".
This will give you an idea of what and why we're trying to do with the Wiki.

Information for those: CONFUSED, ANXIOUS, WORRIED about the Wiki.
Information about: Assessment of Wiki Assignment (including due dates).

Tell me and I might forget.
Show me and I might remember.
Involve me and I will understand.
